Groundbreaking ceremony for the Tower “La Marseillaise” in Marseille

On Wednesday, December 17th 2014, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Tower La Marseillaise, designed by Jean Nouvel, took place on the building site, Quai d’Arenc in Marseille (South of France) in the presence of the main partners of the project: Marc Pietri, Chairman of Groupe Constructa, Alain Lacroix, Chairman of the Board of CEPAC, Elisabeth Viola, Méditerranée interregional Director of Caisse des Dépôts, Gérard Bienfait, Chairman of VINCI Construction France, François Fontès, president and CEO of Ateliers Jean Nouvel and Jean Nouvel. This 134 meters high tower will house 2 500 workstations on 31 levels, an employee dining facility, a business center and its “sky lounge bar” on 29th and 30th floor, a caretaker office, a nursery, a fitness center and 350 parking spaces. The total project area is 35 000 square meters. As a new signal in the Marseille skyline, the tower is a key component of Euroméditerranée, the most important urban redevelopment program in Europe, located on Marseille’s seafront near the industrial port. Its completion is planned in the second quarter of 2018.
